DSv Easytube

What is DSv EasyTube?
Plain direct, DSv means “DarkSun version” and Easy Tube is to replace the [youtube] tags in the content area to the assigned youtube video. DSv-EasyTube is an upgrade version of Paul Bain’s Easy Tube [ official website ] wordpress plugin. None of the original coding was remove.

Only two line inside function tube_content(); have been altered.
Because this is an upgrade version, both plugin can never be activated at the same time. It was done on purpose to avoid even worst collusions with the [youtube] tag.

TIPS: Extracting the proper video url
Before we proceed further, I want to teach the newbies out there a proper way to extract youtube url.

For instance, you went to youtube and there’s this clip entitled “Eugene McGuinness - Monsters Under The Bed“, you want to attach this video to your website but this is the link format:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb1YMQYqcd0&feature=related
Do you see the first ” & ” character?
Remove everything from that point onwards.

An you will get this, which is your video url:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb1YMQYqcd0
Just so you know, this is the part where you are not using:
&feature=related
Usages:
In your WordPress editor, simply type out:



…and replace green with the video URL based from the above tutorial. As a result, I got this.



Features:
Do take note that this plugin support both youtube and google videos (based on the original plugin) but I only create the option page based on youtube embeded features. So mainly to say, the settings found inside the Option menu are for youtube videos only.
  • Enable border: a show/hide option where you can choose by default to have border around your youtube player, or not.
  • Show related videos: when you done viewing the clip, do you want to show the listings of related videos?
  • Autoplay: the name says what it means but my advise is to keep this setting disabled.
  • Screensize: how big or small you want youtube player to be? You can choose 5 different options which are…
    1. Size option: XS Dimension: W245 x H205
    2. Size option: S Dimension: W345 x H288
    3. Size option: M Dimension: W425 x H355
    4. Size option: L Dimension: W461 x H405
    5. Size option: XL Dimension: W640 x H480
  • Theme: choose from 11 different theme to beautify your player.
In addition, the custom settings stated in Paul’s EasyTube plugin page [ view website ] still works.

Future version:
In version 0.4r, you will be able to add your own theme and manage them. The screen size are fully customized too. I still thinking if I should considered doing the google option menu as well, or not… well, I’m y’all like what I’ve plugged, don’t forget to link us ( Paul and Myself ) up to show you appreciation.
