Recently, I’ve wrote about the good thing in using IE6. Especially for web designers such as me, I might be asking myself, what if my clients are using IE7 and what they sees is not exactly the same feels as what I saw, how do I solved that problem?

Well… although it does not seems to be a new thing for us IT Geeks, there is a way in which you can have both IE6 and IE7 on the same PC. And that software is called IE7 Standalone by Trendosoft.

The good thing about this standalone software is that I don’t need to move from one PC that have IE7 installed just for beta testing and checking. This definitely cuts half of my time just moving back and forth from one PC to another.

There is a disadvantage in using IE7 standalone. Because it’s not a so-called ‘complete’ software, some features such as Tabs, Feed reader, Active X and such remains broken links. Another which I’ve notice is that JS and SWF files won’t run too. But it won’t be a problem for me. As long as they are running on IE6, they should run too on IE7 (on the full version of IE7, that is).

Anyway, why not pay a visit at http://tredosoft.com/IE7_standalone and get your standalone now. Oh and just in-case before you having difficulties running the program, do some reading on the page first.

Here’s another good tip on how to search a website that don’t have search capability in em’. Let’s use DSDexigns as an example since I’ve removed the search box for a moment.

Somewhere in DSDexigns, there is an article on how you can search MP3’s using google search. And without knowing the easier way to look for it, you have to browse through all the Weblog entries just to find it. Alternatively if you play it smart, you would instead look at the dropdown menu underneath WEBLOG, then SOFTWARE, then GOOGLE, then GHACKS. Still, you have to browse through a couple of entries before you find it.

But what if you want an instant result, how would you get that article?
With Google search, of course.

The trick here is by using the magic command:

XXX site:URL

NOTE: Replace XXX with what you’re searching for and URL with the domain name without Www.

Using the tips above, head over to Google.Com
 and type:

 search mp3 site:dsdexigns.com

As a results… you’ll get this:

I’ve been using GMail for quite sometime now and I normally downloaded all the new messages to Thunderbird when my PC is around.

At times, I might be outside and when I’ve decided to crash the whole day inside an Internet Cafe, I would normally check for new messages first in my GMail account (followed by all my other email accounts).

Why checking emails when I can do it at home? Well… Currently, I’ve owned 5 domains under my wing, 2 of them has 2 different accounts. At a total, I have 10 email account to check up with everyday. 10 email accounts… imagine how many SPAMs I received per day and how much time I have to spend a day just to clear them out.So since I’m going to crash at the Internet cafe for the whole day, I might as well do some maintenance to my email accounts too, at the same time, free myself from the time wasted at home.

Anyway, after I’ve done reading a message in Gmail, what I did is hit # key or SHIFT+3 to be precise, on the keyboard. And… that message will instantly move to trash.

Alternatively, I can also delete multiple messages using the hotkey too. All I need to do is select the messages from the message listing and hit the # key. All which I’ve selected will be instantly disappeared from my inbox. The selection will be in their new club house called TRASH folder.
