What is Phpbbe?
PHPBBe, codename eNcore, this is the first modded phpBB forum that I ever created.
It is backdated to 2004 when I first start using it for Urban-Explorer.Net website.
At that moment, the logics and knowledge in my head about php and phpBB are just
30% ripe. The rest are raw. eNcore is actually a modified engine of phpBB, that
has a 3 in 1 module. They are the DSContent System, DSGallery and the original
PhpBB.
In addition, there are also other modules to make this eNcore project truly a
cored system!
History
Till now, there are 5 projects which I’ve done using the concept of how the first
eNcore project was made for Urban-Explorer.Net.
In 2005, I got a chance to propose using phpBB eNcore concept again, for this
certain project while working as contract basis for a certain company. The aim
is to use phpBB engine and convert it into a CMS, E-card system and Shopping Cart
System. There are also a CSV system implanted to the project to assist on the
E-card. The project took almost 2 and 1/4 year to complete. Ridiculous right?
Well… the slowness is not on me. It was the ‘I do what is best for my client’
boss and the ‘I want this, no I want that, change it now, on second thoght, change
it back to the first version’ client.
Above is the ’sort ‘ preview that I can expose to y’all.. Just follow up to the
gorilla’s nose and you’ll see. ~Haha.
Truthfully, it’s not worth to even post out the link in here. Especially when
the outcome of the site designed turns out to be a paid template.
T he next eNcore project was for my “heart and soul lifework at SGFreakyLinks.Com“.
Unfortunately I’ve revert to using WordPress instead after site owner of T.R.A.P.S
requested that I’ve use the same engine and style for theirs. I guess, like in
the highlander movie, there could be only one.
Then R.H.S came
about and wanted their website to be revamped.
I proposed eNcore, cause this version is a different from what I ever made so
far. It has Content Management System, Smartor’s Photo Gallery System, PhpBB forum
and a very beta and buggy version of Mailing List mod that I’ve created.
The 5th project was feature during the beta year of DSDexigns establishment, but
I took it down cause of my lacking in commitment. I was focusing on something
else at that time. It is suppose to be the beta release of phpBB eNcore that has
the FIXES and errors based on R.H.S version.
Now after 4 years. After 5 eNcore projects, my logic and knowledge in php and
phpBB got to 90% ripe.
The first image you see in this entry is actually the confirmed color theme for
phpBB eNcore. The leaf logo represents a “new leaf to phpBB”.
I know, there are a heck lot of pre-mod phpbb everywhere. Well, trust me, eNcore
is the very FIRST you ever seen among ALL the pre-mods that are not only based
on ” installation of tons of mod and release to public” project. By my own two
hands, without a team to work with, I will make eNcore equal to their phpBB official
release, codenamed “Olympus”.
Stayed tune cause Phpbbe WILL be release most probably this year, along
with the 7th eNcore project. |
