How to: Speed up Firefox

Actually, this information is almost everywhere on the net. It ia a simple configuration to make you Firefox speed up, or so it seem.

I did the ‘hack’ long before when I reinstalled my OS, yet I never really notice any difference.

I never really notice the speedy effect cause my internet connection are already fast.

Since many have claimed that it will make Firefox speed up, and claimed it really does, then there is no harm listing out the methods here’s in DSDexigns.

Here the manuals to it…
  • Run Firefox
  • Type about:config (without quote) and it will direct you to a list of configuration option.
  • Look for network.http.pipelining
  • Change the value to TRUE by double clicking on it.
  • Look fot network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
  • Change the value to any digit more than 15
  • Look for network.dns.disableIPv6
  • Change the value to TRUE by double clicking on it.
  • Look for network.http.pipelining
  • Change the value to TRUE by double clicking on it.
  • Finally, lets add a new option.
  • Right click on any entry, go to New > Integer.
  • Type nglayout.initialpaint.delay
  • Set the value to 0, and you’re done!
Now that you done with the setting up, try test it out yourself. If you noticed a sudden change in loading ans speed, then I am happy for you.

But if not, try restart the browser, of if you want to kill some time, restart the PC.

If you still don’t notice any speeds, then well…. I told you so. ~Haa
